biography

Born 1966 and grown up in a Western country my life has been and still is influenced by the performance and success principle. Until 2006, I designed advertising which only further colored the picture of a happy and fulfilled life. Already around 1998 a second, for me much more important way began to show: I started to critically evaluate existing systems and values and reflect upon political and social issues such as war, exploitation of nature and human beings and environmental pollution. Over the years I've auto-didactically professionalized my passion for photography which existed since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Only end of 2005 I had the courage and decided to work as a documentary photographer to inspire reflection with my pictures in the people in my environment. The impact of doing or leaving, dealing with strangers or the unknown - here my images are supposed to provide a differentiated look beyond the ubiquitous medial flood of pictures. I aim at making a cultural contribution to our performance and success-driven society; my pictures and stories hopefully encourage the views to reflect upon and maybe even sustainably change their way of thinking.
